Privacy Policy

This site, tka.schooldayos.com, is operated by The King's Academy, Inc., West Palm Beach, Florida (“The King's Academy,” “we,” “us”). It is where our staff and approved substitute teachers do the school's day-to-day work, and where families sign forms we send them. This policy covers this site only; our main website, tka.net, has its own.

1. Collection of Data.

Staff sign in with their King's Academy Microsoft account, from which we receive their name and e-mail address. Substitute teachers register with an e-mail address and password, and may add a mobile number and mailing address so we can reach them about assignments. When a parent or guardian signs a form we send, we receive what the form asks for, such as the parent's name, e-mail, phone, and the student's name and grade. Providing us with other information is at your option. Like many web sites, we may also automatically receive general information that is contained in our server log files such as your IP address and cookie information. This site shows no advertising.

2. Use of Data.

We use Data to run this site and the school operations it supports, and to customize and improve your user experience on this site. We will make efforts so that your Data will not be provided to third parties unless (i) provided for otherwise in this Privacy Policy; (ii) we obtain your consent, such as when you choose to opt-in or opt-out to the sharing of Data; (iii) a service provided on our site requires the interaction with or is provided by a third party, by way of example an Application Service Provider; (iv) pursuant to legal process or law enforcement; (v) we find that your use of this site violates this Policy, our Terms of Service, other usage guidelines or as deemed reasonably necessary by us to protect our legal rights and/or property; or (vi) this site is purchased by a third party whereby that third party will be able to use the Data in the same manner as we can as set forth in this Policy. The service providers this site relies on are Microsoft (sign-in), Render (hosting), Postmark (e-mail), Twilio (text messages), Anthropic (the Ask TKA assistant, for questions staff type into it), and a cloud file-storage provider for attachments; each receives only what it needs to do that job for us. We do not sell Data. In the event you choose to use links that appear on our site to visit other web sites, you are advised to read the privacy policies that appear on those sites.

3. Cookies.

Like many web sites, we set and use cookies to enhance your user experience: to keep you signed in and to retain your personal settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and no third party sets cookies through this site.

4. Children.

We do not allow persons who are ages thirteen or younger to become members of this site; accounts are for King's Academy staff and approved substitute teachers. Student information that staff or parents enter here, such as a name on a permission form, is used only for school purposes and is never shared for marketing. 5. Editing or Deleting Your Account Information.

We provide you with the ability to edit the information in your user account by using your profile page. You may request deletion of your user account by contacting us. Records the school is required to keep, such as signed forms and assignment history, may continue to be retained after your user account is deleted.

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy.

We may make changes to this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of substantial changes to this Policy either by posting a prominent announcement on our site and/or by sending a message to the e-mail address you have provided to us that is contained within your user settings.

7. No guarantees.

While this Privacy Policy states our standards for maintenance of Data and we will make efforts to meet them, we are not in a position to guarantee these standards. There may be factors beyond our control that may result in disclosure of data. As a consequence, we disclaim any warranties or representations relating to maintenance or nondisclosure of Data.

8. Text Messaging (SMS).

If you provide a mobile number and agree to receive text messages from The King's Academy, such as substitute teacher job notifications, we use that number only to send the messages you agreed to receive. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the sharing described in this Policy excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers who deliver our messages on our behalf.
